Millennium Trail upgrade resumes

Upgrades to the Millennium Trail through the Slab Creek and the Hubbs Creek provincially-significant wetlands is set to begin Tuesday, Nov. 12.

This phase of upgrades will occur where the trail crosses Station Road in Hillier and continues east to Danforth Road.
The elevation of the trail will be raised with gravel through the Slabb Creek and Hubb’s Creek wetland areas to prevent seasonal flooding of the trail.

Construction crews will also be grading, applying six inches of limestone screening, and rolling the surface of the trail.
The work to upgrade the 4.5 km stretch of trail is expected to continue for approximately two weeks.

This section of the trail will be closed during the upgrade work and will be marked appropriately.

The Millennium Trail Rehabilitation Ad-Hoc Committee, which includes representatives from the County and the Prince Edward County Millennium Trail Committee, is facilitating the project.

    Excellent news.
The upgrades to the Millennium trail and its, now, more regular use by so many has been a great addition to the County and Region. Congratulations to the Ad-Hoc Committee Team for the work performed. Looking forward to the completion and continued use. Well Done.
