CHEERS! from Fiona Patton, Carnation Campaign Co-coordinator, with the Prince Edward Chapter of the MS Society to everyone who helped make this year’s Carnation Fund Raising Campaign such a success.
“Our thanks go out to the many people who supported us with their very generous donations, to Pierson’s Foodland, and the Wellington Pharmacy in Wellington, and The Beer Store, Metro, Pharma Plus, Books & Company, Mac’s Milk and the Victory Archives in Picton for allowing us to set up shop outside their establishments, and to Whattam’s Funeral Home for donating the space to house our flowers over the Mother’s Day weekend.
“Special thanks are due to Brenda Kerr and the students and staff of South Marysburgh and Athol schools and particular thanks go out to Ms Moon, the students of PECI – in particular Natasha Davenport, Brittany Tuttle, Katrina Goode and Chantel Mudie – for their help above and beyond, and to Matt Sheaham and Janet Ash.
“Special thanks also go out to our many dedicated volunteers, both veterans and new volunteers who sold in cold and wind, without whom our campaign would not be possible. With everyone’s help and dedication, we managed to raise over $5,300 to help those battling MS in our community.”

Christine Snider one of the many volunteers who sold carnations for the Prince Edward MS Chapter over the Mother's Day weekend.
More than 30 volunteers with the Prince Edward Chapter of the MS Society are in position for the annual Mother’s Day Carnation Fund Raising Campaign. Gerry Putman and Fiona Patton, co-cordinator, have distributed the beautiful silk and fresh flowers. Downtown Picton shoppers will spot volunteers at the Pharma Plus, Books & Co., The Victory and the Beer Store. Sales are also being conducted by students at PECI, Athol and South Marysburgh schools. Funds will help those battling multiple sclerosis in Prince Edward County. Volunteers always welcome for this and other events throughout the year. Email dkaijohnston@gmail.com
