Multiple arrests as OPP seize 4,600 pot plants in North Marysburgh

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) arrested 17 people and seized nearly 4600 cannabis plants in North Marysburgh in Prince Edward County.
CSCU officers, along with members of the Prince Edward County OPP Detachment and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed multiple warrants Sept. 14, 2020 at three locations on County Road 8.
Investigators discovered a cannabis resin extraction lab at one location and seized nearly 4600 cannabis plants, a variety of power tools, a shot gun, approximately $10,000 in Canadian currency and a variety of equipment used for the production of cannabis. In addition, a large quantity of processed cannabis was seized.
Charged with cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants contrary to section the Cannabis Act and possession of proceeds obtained by crime were 17 people ranging in age from 25 to 64, from Scarborough, Markham, Leamington and many from ‘no fixed address’.
The accused individuals have been released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on Nov. 25.
