Picton Main Street reconstruction advances to its next phase with new detour route.
Picton Main Street between Bridge Street and the south side of Paul Street will be closed to traffic. Construction continues on Picton Main Street, north of Paul Street.
Northbound traffic is permitted on Picton Main Street from Paul Street to Johnson Street. Traffic will be detoured via Picton Main, Walton, King, Paul, Jane and Johnson streets.
Local property access will be maintained during the detour.
The scope of the project includes replacement of the existing sanitary sewer and services, and of the existing watermain and services; storm sewer replacement and complete road reconstruction with new curb and gutters, sidewalks, asphalt pavement, and decorative street lighting.
RW Tomlinson Limited, the contractor for this project, is completing the work in phases to minimize the impact to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
