New Level 3 electric vehicle chargers in Picton

Two new Level 3 DCFC electric vehicle (EV) chargers are now available for public use at the municipal parking lot located at 55 King St., Picton.

They are the first “fast chargers” and the fourth set of EV chargers installed by the municipality.

The municipality’s EV charging infrastructure is connected to the Flo network. The Level 3 DCFC chargers cost $20 per hour, with payment through the Flo app or by credit card.

These chargers were funded through Natural Resources Canada under the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), as well as the province of Ontario’s Electric Vehicle ChargeON Program.

Motorists may park in the electric vehicle charger parking spaces for up to four hours, and only when actively charging their vehicle.

Note the electric vehicle (EV) chargers located at Crystal Palace in Picton will be temporarily out of service from Friday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 7, during the Picton Fair.

A Level 2 charger is located at the Bloomfield Main parking lot and there are two at the arena on Belleville Street in Wellington. The cost to charge using Level 2 chargers is $2.50 per hour
