Brooke Jackson’s hat trick contributed to leading the Panthers to an 8-3 victory over the visiting Moira Secondary School Trojans in high school girl’s hockey Tuesday in Picton.
Jackson ended the night with a five point game despite the Panthers having a short player bench. Notably missing from the line up were Meghan Anderson, Livy Rideout and Britney Payne. As a result, Sarah Young did a fantastic job dropping back on “D” from her usual role as forward.
Captain Cailey Jones had 4 points total, 2 goals and 2 assists while Sam Ward achieved the traditional Gordie Howe hat trick by scoring 2 goals, 1 assist and a penalty for a glove swinging battle in front of the Trojan net. Abby Terpstra had a goal while Kelli-Anne Maycock and Sarah Young had assists to round out the scoring.
Next Panther game is Thursday Feb. 12th at 3pm in Picton against Saint Paul Catholic Secondary School Falcons.
