Public welcome to cheer PECI in COSSA basketball bid

Girls Basketball COSSA championship games are Thursday, Nov. 15.

The JR girls team plays Cobourg Collegiate in Lindsay at IE Weldon at 12pm. Championship game is at 4pm. The bus leaves at 8:15am. Parents are invited to ride the bus.

The SR girls team plays Adam Scott at PECI at 10am. Championship game is at 3pm. Parents and community members are invited to attend.

PECI Sr. Girls are Bay of Quinte champions

NOV. 10 – The Prince Edward Collegiate Institute SR Girls basketball team won the Bay of Quinte Championship Friday night in a 52 – 24 drubbing of the Centre Hastings Centurians.

Mikayla Leavitt poured in 25 points to lead the Panthers, with Sidney Davies and Myla Deboef both netting si. This is the third straight championship for the Panthers.

“The girls started the playoffs at the #4 seed and played the role of underdog to perfection,” said Coach Rob Garden.

In the semi-finals, they knocked off the #1 seeded Nicholson Crusaders 55 – 39.

They will host the AA Central Ontario Championships next Thursday at PECI.
