PECI students dramatize what happens when a trio of witches predicts a brave Scottish general will become King as they present Shakespeare’s tragedy of Macbeth this weekend at the high school.
Notable quotes from the play include: “Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble”; “Out, damned spot! Out, I say”; “What’s done is done”; and “Is this a dagger I see before me?”
There is no charge to see the performance as $2,000 to help cover costs was awarded last fall to PECI’s Department Head of the Arts, Matthew Sheahan, as winner of the fall 2016 Awesome PEC Foundation pitch party where five ideas based on public art were presented.
The play was presented to students Thursday. It continues tonight and Saturday night for the public. Curtain opens at 7 p.m.
