RW Tomlinson Limited has concluded work on Phase 3 of the Picton Main Street reconstruction project until the spring. The road has returned to two-lane traffic with no signals.
This fall, work crews completed the sanitary and storm sewer work on the west side of the road from #454 County Road 49 to Fawcett Avenue. A single layer of temporary asphalt was placed to allow the municipality to reopen the road during the winter months. The surface will be maintained throughout the winter. A new roadway will be installed when the entire project is completed.
Work resuming in the spring 2026 continues until December 2026 with one lane of traffic being maintained.
Work will include sanitary and storm sewer replacement and extension from Fawcett Avenue to Folkard Lane; watermain replacement from #454 County Road 49 to Folkard Lane and installation of new roadway, curbs, sidewalk and street lighting from #454 County Road 49 to Folkard Lane.
