Poppy Campaign funds help support veterans and seniors in the County

The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 78 in Picton presented $1,500 to the Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association to assist with the Meals on Wheels program. Above, Tom McCaw, vice-president of Branch 78 and chair of the Poppy Fund, presented the donation to Barbara Proctor, past chair for the Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association.

The Legion is a long-time supporter of  seniors’ programs through the annual Poppy Campaign which runs from the last Friday in October to Remembrance Day, Nov. 11. All the money collected supports veterans and services that support them within Prince Edward County.
