QHC invites public comment on strategic planning

County residents will attend a strategic planning meeting tonight in Picton to have their voices heard as QHC determines its new five-year plan.
The meeting is set for the Community Centre, Main St., Picton  June 15th from 6:30-8 p.m. Those unable to attend are invited to join in the conversation by going to the QHC web site at http://www.qhc.on.ca/Home.aspx to read more, join a discussion forum, complete a survey and provide input. Look for the ‘My QHC (My Health, My Care, My Voice) link’.
The site introduction states:
Whether you are a patient, staff member, physician, health care partner, volunteer or community member, QHC is your hospital. Help us shape its future and make QHC an exceptional place to receive care and an exceptional place to work. Make your voice heard.
Between April and June 2011, QHC is looking for input from the entire community to help shape our new five-year strategic plan.

There are five questions that QHC will need to answer as we chart the future (click on each question below to learn more):
How can QHC continue to improve the quality of care we deliver?
How do we secure a vibrant future for all four QHC hospital sites?
How can there be better coordination of patient care between the hospital and other health care providers in the community?
What should QHC’s role be within the regional network of health care providers?
What would ensure QHC is an exceptional place to work?

“By looking to our communities to help us answer these questions, we will ensure that our limited resources will be focused in the right direction, in the areas that will have the greatest impact, according to the people we serve.”
