Queen’s Barefoot Players delight with Teapest in a Tempot

On one dark and tempestuous night, a sprite, a monster, some clowns and a wizard encounter one another on a mystical island and are compelled by magic to finally make amends.
Queen’s University’s Barefoot Players theatre troupe performed at the Picton library branch Saturday to the delight of their audience. Their summer 2012 show, Teapest in a Tempot, is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest – a tale of forgiveness, buffoonery and just a little romance unfolding with rollicking and rioutous revelry.
Made possible by the Queen’s Student Work Experience Program (SWEP), The Barefoot Players gain valuable workplace experience creating, touring, and performing theatre for young audiences between the months of May and August each year.  The company also runs a theatre day camp in July bringing theatre education and fun to children for two weeks every summer.
And yes, Nadia Leiningen, Cody McCallum, Dylan On, Jackie Omstead, James Gagné and Aimee Bouchard performed barefoot.
