Perfectly Preserved volunteer Rosalind Leslie with Perfectly Preserved Manager Jane Winwood under the new tent.
In a county known for windy (and this summer, hot) weather, Perfectly Preserved’s old tent had taken one beating too many. This busy branch of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, known for making and selling artisanal jams and pickles, was desperately in need of a new shelter for its many market appearances.
It now CHEERS! members of the Rotary clubs of Picton and Wellington which each chipped in to help Perfectly Preserved buy a sturdy new shade and shelter tent. Look for the big red tent at farmers’ markets in Picton and Wellington, as well as special events including the Milford Fair.
“We are deeply grateful to both the Picton and Wellington Rotary Clubs for their generous support,” said Dorothy Speirs, Perfectly Preserved spokesperson. “These donations will enable us to reach our goal of purchasing additional equipment for our hospital this year.”
“We would also like to thank the many farmers and gardeners who have donated and continue to donate so much produce, as well as all our customers who bring back their used jars for re-use.”
