Routine 424 Squadron SAR flare training Monday-Tuesday

424 (Transport and Rescue) Squadron will be conducting flare training over Lake Ontario, south of Brighton and west of Prince Edward County from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the nights of both Monday, Aug. 21 and Tuesday, Aug. 22.
In the area during this time, a CC-130H Hercules will be launching between four and eight yellow-white flares from an altitude no higher than 5500 ft. above sea level.
This training is in support of nighttime SAR missions and allows 424 (T&R) Squadron to practice night flying and spotting procedures. This training is not expected to pose a disturbance to the community.
