Silver medal PECI Panther athletes caps successful autumn season

Another silver-lined week in PECI Panther’s Athletics capped an award-winning autumn season of excellence in high school sports.
The senior boys volleyball team won a AA COSSA silver medal at Marc Garneau Ecole Secondaire in Trenton on Wednesday.
“The boys battled hard but were beat in a third game tie-breaker,” said Coach Holmes who praised his team for its commitment and progress during the season.
The senior girls basketball team won a AAA COSSA silver medal after losing a heart-breaking game to St. Peter, Peterborough 38 – 37 on Thursday, at PECI.
“The girls had a tremendous season,” said Coach Rob Garden. “I am very proud of the team’s effort and toughness this season.”

– Girls rugby:
Varsity team played six regular season games and improved a lot
– Golf:
James Pero and Tyler Allison qualified for COSSA
– Cross Country:
All runners competed at COSSA
Grade 9 student Amelia McKinny participated at OFSAA
– Boys Soccer:
Junior and senior teams qualified for Bay of Quinte playoffs
Junior boys won a AA COSSA Silver Medal
– Boys Volleyball:
Junior and senior teams qualified for Bay of Quinte playoffs
Senior boys won a Bay of Quinte Silver Medal
Junior boys team qualified for AAA COSSA
Senior boys team won a AA COSSA Silver Medal
Girls Basketball:
Junior and senior teams qualified for Bay of Quinte playoffs
Senior girls team won two bronze and one gold medal at tournaments
Senior girls team won a Bay of Quinte silver medal
Senior girls team won a AAA COSSA silver medal
