In honour of Nurse’s Week beginning May 12, students of St. Gregory’s Catholic School were asked “what a nurse means to them”.
Mrs. Naylor’s Grade 2 class and Mrs. Millen’s Grade 1 and 2 class visited the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital to present their art work, tour and ask qustions.
Lisa Mowbray, Manager of Patients Services, Cheryl Minaker, Emergency Room nurse and other staff welcomed the students and thanked them for their inspiring artwork. This artwork and artwork from other County schools is on display in the hospital throughout this week – Nurses Week.
Every May 12th since 1965, on Florence Nightingale’s birthday, International Nurses Day is designed to remind everyone how nurses work to guarantee high-quality nursing care through their input and the strengthening of health policies.
