Suspects in stolen vehicle rob County man

Two men are on the run following a robbery on Main Street, Picton.
Police report 4:37am a young Prince Edward County resident was walking on Picton Main Street at about 4:30 a.m. when he was approached by two persons in a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle demanded the male’s backpack and told him if he failed to hand it over he would be hurt. The suspect driver indicated to the victim that he had a weapon.
The victim complied with the suspect’s demand and was not injured.
Ontario Provincial Police officers of the Prince Edward County detachment responded to the area and began to search for the suspect vehicle.
A short time later a Tyendinaga Police officer spotted the suspect vehicle but before it could be stopped, it left the roadway and entered a ditch. The two occupants fled the scene on foot. The Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit attended the scene and began a search but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from a residence on the Tyendinaga Township.
The suspect driver is described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, wearing a hat and a camo coloured jacket or shirt. The suspect passenger is believed to be a male wearing a green jacket with a hood that covered his head.
