‘Take Back The Night’ reminds of struggles to end violence against women

A march to raise awareness of sexual assault and the struggles to end violence against women paraded along Main Street, Picton Wednesday. The “Take Back the Night” march followed a free meal, poster making with Food Not Bombs and Alternatives for Women at the Picton Town Hall.
The march is a symbolic action where women reclaim the right to walk at night, free of fear. Violence and sexual assault too often keep women in a state of fear governing how and where they walk, confining them to their homes – in silence.
