There’s no free lunch

Have the residents of Prince Edward County never learned that there is no free lunch? Do councillors not buy groceries or gasoline? Do they not use hydro? Have they not noticed the increase in the cost of living? I would challenge anyone to live anywhere in Ontario more reasonably than in The County with the quality of life we enjoy.
I have no problem with councillors voting themselves an increase to cover the cost of living but I do have a problem with candidates who run for office who make ridiculous promises not to put up taxes in order to get themselves elected. Just have the intestinal fortitude to put up taxes if necessary to keep libraries and local halls operating which add so much to our quality of life. By the way I am an 86 year old widow pensioner who has lived in The County for thirteen years.
