Second runner up was Greta Julia Scanlon, daughter of Justin and Sierra Scanlon, and winner of the 7-12 month female category.

Lana Latchford, coordinator of the Baby Show for the past 35 years, noted there were 45 babies registered for this year’s show. She was assisted this year by Nancy Craig.

“We have to thank Lana Latchford for running the show all these years. We couldn’t do it without her,” said emcee and show sponsor Paul Massey, Picton Tim Hortons owner.

Judging was a tough job for Nancy Arthur and Brenda Little.

Massey congratulated all the participants and also thanked Andy Forgie for entertaining the crowd with fun music and song while registrations were confirmed.

At the end of the show, Massey declared all the entrants were winners and thanked everybody for participating. Category winners’ names below.

    Cute babies, STOP HARPER!

  2. Marnie says:

Well Gary the midway was pretty poor this year no Ferris wheel – and there was a lot of empty space in the arena and the Crystal Palace. They did have taffy so you would not have considered it a total loss. It would be far better to offer free display space to some community groups rather than have so many gaps. That fair needs work.

  3. Lena says:

They are all so adorable, all winners!

  4. Gary says:

I like a good big midway with some gambling like crown & anchor. Also the vegetable and agriculture exhibits. Oh and some fresh taffy!

  5. Dave says:

I agree with Marnie changes need to be made however the old guard is not willing
Biggest change was when some younger blood David Carr was president

  6. Marnie says:

Been there done that Gary. If there is to be any help for that fair the board has to realize how much it has slipped and be willing to try a few new things. I know of two or three people who have offered input and tried to make a difference but the old guard was not about to hear their ideas.

  7. Gary says:

Well here’s your opportunity Marnie to contribute and bring your new blood and great ideas to refresh the fair.

  8. Marnie says:

Great that the baby show was a success. The rest of the fair was a big disappointment. The exhibits in the Crystal Palace and the arena were thin and the midway was a big step down from what it once was. So many good features of the fair have disappeared. Looked as if it was thrown together at the last minute. Hard to imagine where they get the nerve to charge $8 for admission. The fair board needs new blood or before long we will not have a fair.

  9. Lana Latchford says:

Thank you Susan, love all the pictures and thanks also for the great write-up.
