Traffic disruptions on Wellington Main
Administrator | Apr 20, 2026 | Comments 0

The County’s Water and Wastewater Department will be working on a watermain valve and fire hydrant installation on Wellington Main Street overnight, beginning at approximately 5 p.m. Thursday, April 23, with an expected completion time of 3 a.m. Friday, April 24.
Construction is to take place between the intersection of Belleville Street and the east town limit. Traffic control will be in place. The work area may be reduced to one lane for the duration of work.
Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.
This work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Wellington Main Street from Belleville Street to the east town limit can expect to experience reduced to no water pressure and coloured water is possible when the watermain is returned to service.
If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance work is complete.
