Watermain shutdown on Wellington Main May 28

The County’s water and wastewater department plans to work on a watermain valve and fire hydrant installation on Wellington Main Street, Thursday, May 28.
Work is to begin at 9 a.m., with an expected completion time of 6 p.m. the same day. During this time, there is expected to be a two-hour shut down of the watermain.
The construction will take place on Wellington Main Street between the Tim Hortons (132 Wellington Main) and the East town limit.
Traffic control will be in place. The work area may be reduced to one lane for the duration of work. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.
This work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents in the work area can expect to experience reduced to no water pressure and coloured water is possible when the watermain is returned to service.
If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance work is complete.
