Meet in Wellington Wednesday if you can help plan bus trip to Queen’s Park

One of our great Canadian values is to look after one another. Our grandparents saw that need and built Prince Edward Memorial Hospital to look after the people of Prince Edward County. The people of the County have, over the years, supported our hospital and that Canadian value. We will look after each other. We cannot afford to lose either – both are under attack.
A generation fought and died to protect these values and they have passed the torch to us. Let’s not drop it.
Get on the bus on April 17 to rally at Queen’s Park and let the politicians see the faces of the people that they are hurting. Two buses with washrooms have been booked. Each bus can carry 54 people.
Anybody who can lend a hand to work on committees for the bus trip is invited to meet at Wellington United Church on Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m.
To the politicians of Ontario:
We will fight you in the County.
We fight you in Ontario.
We will fight you in Toronto.
We will fight you at Queen’s Park.
Our hospital. We will never surrender.
-Dave Gray, Wellington
I wrote this song after listening to “The Hockey Song” by the late, great Stompin Tom Connors.
Our good old county home
The best island in the sun
Where we love to live
And have so much fun
We built a hospital brick by brick
That still stands today
is under attack by the politicians we pay
But we will fight
To win it back for every one of us
Why!
Because it belongs to us
Good old county home
The best island in the sun
Where we love to live
And have so much fun
So off we go
To let them know
The fight has just begun
our people will fight with all their might
To protect our hospital so
Grab a sign and board a bus
It’s off to Queen’s Park we go
Good old county home – the best island in the sun
Where we love to live – and have so much fun.
