The Ontario Federation of Agriculture and the Ontario Association of Food Banks have partnered to launch a program that encourages farmers to donate quality food that is otherwise wasted, to food banks. In return, it is hoped the Ontario government will give participating farmers a tax break for charitable donations.
Adam Spence, Executive Director of the Ontario Association of Food Banks, OFA President Bette Jean Crews, Farmer Peter Quiring and Alan Whittle of Good Shepherd Food Bank in Hamilton talk about the OFA’s Food Bank Program in this OFA video.
